Side Effects of VCO

A research study about virgin coconut oil (VCO) proved that the everyday intake of VCO helps the human body to lessen bad cholesterol. This was revealed by the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA). The study was derived from a four-month clinical study on the Effect of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) on Human with Emphasis on Cholesterol conducted by the University of Santo Tomas Research Team. According to them, VCO also increases sexual performance. It also provides health benefits such as regular bowel movement, increase in appetite, increased body stamina, and good sleep.

The study inferred that 13% of the VCO takers became sexually active as they participate in the VCO study. On the contrary, the group also shared negative effects of VCO such as having soft bowel, stomach ache, sweating, and nausea. The intake of VCO also resulted to the increase of Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) and SGPT due to VCO’s high caloric equivalent and liver metabolism.
