During the opening of the DOST Mindanao Cluster Science and Technology Fair in one of the convention centers here September 14, Undersecretary Fortunato Dela Peña of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) said that science and technology could well deal with issues on food, alternative energy, environment, biotechnology, information and communication technology and health.
With this year’s theme: “Responding to Global Challenges through Science and Technology,” DOST (Department of Science and Technology) challenge inventors to find more innovations to work on towards the development of the country.
He stressed that science and technology could really aid solve or ease some of these burdens since, science can overcome these challenges and spur development in the country.
Moreover, he called on all inventors to go on their innovations and to always think about the ordinary people who ought to benefit from their innovations.
If this challenge would really be set in reality, through the different possible innovations, it might be of great help the economy crisis that the country is facing today. [via PIA]
