Last October 8-9, in cooperation with DTI (Department of Science and Technology), DOST-Siquijor (Department of Science and Technology), sponsored a Training on Personal Care Products Formulation” (shampoo making, liquid hand wash, cream, lotion, & other products).
The training was held at Dapdap Sunset Grill, Pangi, Siquijor, which aspired at providing technical know-how, especially to women’s group, on the production and formulation of personal care products.
Engr. Mario E. de la Peña, DOST Provincial Director said that the activity was perfect for women and even new graduates in the province to begin up entrepreneurial activity in order to generate income and contribute in uplifting economy and tourism activities of the province.
Trainers are from the Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) of the Department of Science and Technology in Manila.
Participants are from women’s associations like LIWOMCO, SWABE, SSC, Provincial and Municipal tourism office, DTI, DOLE, TESDA who are presently assisting women’s group in the province.
They were trained how to formulate transparent and pearled shampoo, liquid hand wash, cream and lotion. The group was able to perform hands-on exercises and able to bring with them five kinds of finished products.
Agencies like DOST and ITDI are more than willing to be of further service for the full satisfaction of the women’s’ group in the province. [via PIA]
