DOST (Department of Science and Technology) emphasized innovation and leadership through Science awards as it sets its cash prizes for the winners of the 2nd Gawad LIDER (Leadership and Innovations for Development and Reforms in Science Education) Award.
Individuals and/or groups with sustained exemplary leadership in the field of science education and who have developed and introduced science and technology-based innovations or inventions to advance science education in the country are encouraged to submit their application.
The award has two categories:
- Exemplary Leadership Award which is given to an individual or group who/that has consistently demonstrated leadership qualities in the pursuit of an idea or a performance that generated nationwide impact on public interest in the field of science education;
- Innovation Award which is conferred to an individual or institution who/that has introduced a science and technology-based innovation that contributed to the advancement of science education.
Aspirants for the award will be nominated by the head of institution, community leader, organization or individual.
- Innovation Award which is conferred to an individual or institution who/that has introduced a science and technology-based innovation that contributed to the advancement of science education.
A cash prize of P200, 000 each awaits the winners of the biennial search spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
