To consider ways to save gasoline, diesel and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) consumption, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is assisting Inventor Emiliano F. Quitol (EFQ) his research regarding the production of biofuel.

The research, Conversion of Used Cooking Oil into Biofuel Product, is granted with an amount of Seven Hundred Thousand One Hundred Seventy Six Pesos (PhP700, 176.00) financial assistance by DOST through the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI).

The said assistance will cover the fabrication of the needed equipment and working capital for its pilot production.

The EFQ BIOFUEL is used as an additive to blend with the diesel, gasoline, and LPG fuels with a recommended ratio of 1:1 or 1ml biofuel to 1 liter gasoline or diesel fuel to improve performance of vehicle engines and reduce fuel consumption. The EFQ BIOFUEL has different formulation of product recommended for vehicle engines using gasoline, diesel and LPG fuels.

With this kind of research, it is now possible to have the best fuel alternatives in case the lost of fossil fuels in the next 30 years as predicted by experts. [via region11.dost.gov.ph]
