The Children's Science Center explores to different schools around Northern Virginia to teach science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They make use of experiments to spark the children’s fascination of science. According to Nene Spivy, President of Board of Directors at the Children's Science Center, if the students don't have an understanding of science, they're going to find it very difficult to be competitive and solve the world's problems.

When dish soap, hydrogen peroxide and other ingredients were mixed together, an explosive reaction will occur, this is being loved by the students of Oak Hill Elementary in Herndon. Also, they learned about CO2 or carbon dioxide when a balloon, a plastic bottle and a couple simple ingredients were mixed. Other experiment requires hot air that will show the diverse effects of earthquakes on houses built on sand, gravel or rock. [via topix.com]
