Seaweed Processing Training Slated

In coordination with the Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI), DOST (Department of Science and Technology) is conducting trainings on seaweed processing in Zamboanga Peninsula. The said trainings are in line with DOST's Small Enterprise technology Upgrading Program otherwise known as SET-UP.

DOST Regional Director Brenda Nazareth-Manzano said that the training was intended for the seaweed farmers, traders and processors of Zamboanga City and from the towns San Jose Dalman and Rizal in Zamboanga del Norte.

Seaweed processing is one of the priority technology trainings identified by her office this year in support to the seaweed industry. [via]
